Controllership - Strategic Leadership (Live Webinar - Multi Segment)
Overview
Participants will strengthen the catalyst and strategist dimensions of controllership—elevating leadership impact, strategic management, and organization-wide influence. Participants will practice frameworks for leading people, shaping strategy and data governance, and navigating change, conflict, and crisis with clarity and credibility.

- Experienced controllers seeking practical tools for strategy, data governance, and leading through change.
Learning Objectives
- Distinguish manager versus leader mindsets and assess personal leadership style against five common perspectives.
- Apply emotional-intelligence practices and generational awareness to improve collaboration and influence.
- Define the controller’s role in strategic management, including strategy formulation, data strategy/governance, and communicating value.
- Identify strategic risks, pivots, and disruptors, and outline practical steps to support implementation and continuous advantage.
- Lead through change, conflict, and crisis using structured approaches that protect operations and trust.
Content
- Today’s controller: roles, responsibilities, perceived vs. actual value, and positioning controllership as a strategic asset.
- Controller as leader: leader vs. manager, five leadership perspectives, core competencies, and mini-case exercises.
- Controller as strategic manager: what strategy is, purpose and drivers, competitive forces, basic strategies and value propositions, automation, data strategy and governance, and implementation tips.
- Controller in change/conflict/crisis: change models, conflict techniques, crisis stages, prevention, response, and turnaround considerations.
