CPAEF Brian Friedrich Bursary
Deadline for Submissions
May 15 and November 15
Introduction to the Award
Brian Friedrich, FCPA, FCGA, was a stalwart and respected member of the profession who lived life to the fullest, on his own terms, and challenged those around him to push boundaries, re-examine the status quo, and question arbitrary conventions. A life-long learner and polymath, Brian was innately curious and applied an inter-disciplinary approach to problem-solving and scholarship. He walked the road less travelled with integrity and encouraged others to do the same. His dedication to the profession was unwavering. Brian contributed to the CPA profession at the provincial, national, and international level and was sought out to participate on various committees and initiatives due to his innovative mindset and ethics-based thinking. He contributed extensively to the unification of the profession as a member and Chair of his legacy board and by serving as one of CPABC’s first board members. On the national and international stage, Brian was involved in numerous projects and committees, including being a valued member of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA).
