"The Update Course provided a timely overview of the current developments in the profession. The course goes into just enough depth to provide a working knowledge of issues emerging from new standards. The presenter is very knowledgeable and kept a good pace throughout the day."

"Our in-house PD course was easy to organize and appreciated by all participants in our Northern community. The instructor was very well prepared and adaptable to our questions. The convenience of participating in a local PD course was unbeatable.
The most beneficial PD course I've participated in so far was an in-house PD course. The class size was smaller, traveling to another location was unnecessary and the instructor was extremely prepared and adaptable to our questions. The ICABC was helpful in sorting out the details and made it simple to organize an in-house course."

"Last fall we had our first ICABC in-house PD session and were immensely pleased with the process. After considering the two alternatives we've traditionally used, either self-developed courses (which require a lot of time and effort to develop with little guaranteed quality control) or sending a large group to attend courses, we determined that the ICABC in-house PD made economic sense. However, we were delighted that we could review the course content with the instructor beforehand and have the session tailored to best suit our firm's needs. If you're considering this option for providing PD to your team, I can highly recommend it."

“The feedback from participants was very favorable and employees appreciated our commitment to their professional development requirements. These courses are building blocks in developing our financial professionals and we are very pleased to partner with ICABC for a number of PD sessions in the coming year.”

“For the first time, last year we held two in-house presentations of an ICABC PD program. Arranging the presentations was very simple - the Institute staff were very helpful and great to work with. By bringing in the instructor and doing the presentation here in Kelowna, we were able to involve many more participants from our office than we would have if all of us had to travel to Vancouver. Also, by doing an in-house presentation, we were able to include clients who, in all likelihood, would otherwise not have attended at all. The response we received was overwhelmingly positive, and we will definitely be looking at this option for future presentations for which we want broad participation but the courses are not otherwise offered in Kelowna.”

With the growth of the firm, it was a natural transition to bring PD in-house. The ICABC in-house program allows us to deliver cost-effective PD to our staff on a timely basis. In-house PD also secures high quality instructors and the tailoring of PD material to our specific needs. The institute PD staff are great in that they provide all the material necessary to run the course; we just have to provide the room and the attendees! This is a PD strategy that works for us and is now a permanent element of our annual program.
