This course provides a focused refresher on personal tax planning, emphasizing employment income and the strategic use of tax-deferred savings vehicles.

This course provides a high-level overview of personal tax planning considerations related to investment and capital transactions.

This course was previously part of Personal Tax – Review of Tax Planning, which has since been divided into standalone courses. This modularization approach allows members to choose only the content most relevant to their needs. Here are all the courses that were split from Personal Tax - Review of Tax Planning. Please note that availability of offerings may vary throughout the year, and some courses are available only in On-Demand format. 

For members who require the complete curriculum, the full Personal Tax – Review of Tax Planning course remains available in On-Demand format. 

 


This live virtual seminar is offered in collaboration with CPA Western Provinces. The content is applicable to all participants. BC registrants can access the course materials and virtual meeting link through CPABC's Learning Management System (LMS) as usual. Please note that this virtual seminar will be hosted by CPA Alberta. Course Description

Participants will strengthen their understanding of key areas such as taxable benefits, common deductions, and planning opportunities related to registered plans including RRSPs, TFSAs, RESPs, RDSPs, and FHSAs. Through practical examples and applied discussions, the course highlights current rules and anti-avoidance considerations to help translate technical concepts into effective, real-world planning strategies for individuals and owner-managed contexts.

  • Professionals involved in personal tax who want a structured refresher on planning concepts. 
  • Practitioners supporting individuals, family trusts, and owner-managers seeking up-to-date, practical guidance.
