Management Essentials Certificate Program (Live Webinar - Multi Segment)
Overview
Being a manager can be challenging, but it doesn’t need to be overwhelming. This 3-day intensive manager development program equips participants with the managerial and leadership skills needed to more effectively coach and mentor, set expectations, manage individual and team performance, handle difficult conversations, manage up, manage relationships with your peers, and deal with time management challenges. Through group work, case studies, and practical exercises, participants will enhance their self-awareness of their management and leadership style and will learn skills that will increase their capacity to lead and manage with confidence.

To earn the Management Essentials Certificate, you must attend all the live sessions. Sessions will not be recorded.

- Reflect on your managerial roles and responsibilities, cognitive preferences and emotional intelligence and consider how to develop further in these areas
- Explore how to communicate more effectively and build trust and put those skills to work
- Develop skills that will facilitate delegation, motivation, the empowerment of others and performance management

- Develop skills that will assist you in giving constructive feedback, handling difficult conversations and managing conflict

Content
Day 1
- Focuses on the development of your managerial roles and skills, cognitive preferences and how they influence decision making and interpersonal relations, emotional intelligence, and trust
Day 2
- Focuses on delegation, leadership, power and influence, motivation, performance management, effective communication, and the handling of difficult conversations
Day 3
- Focuses on concluding the section on difficult conversation. It then shifts to the development of effective teams, avoiding team traps, the legal environment, nurturing positive relationships with your peers and the person you report to, time management, professional effectiveness, and your personal development plan

Improving Your Virtual Learning Experience
Live webinars have varying levels of expected interaction, with some requiring microphone and camera capabilities to support a proper learning experience – please email pdreg@bccpa.ca if you have concerns.
In general, we encourage participants to have their cameras turned on to enhance their virtual learning experience. This practice promotes a stronger connection with the instructor and fellow participants, and fosters improved communication and collaboration.
