Overview

Difficult conversations are an inevitable part of professional life, yet many people delay them because of uncertainty, discomfort, or fear of negative outcomes. This practical workshop explores how to approach challenging workplace conversations with greater confidence and effectiveness. Participants will learn strategies to prepare for, conduct, and evaluate difficult discussions in ways that strengthen relationships, improve communication, and support positive workplace outcomes.


This live virtual seminar is offered in collaboration with CPA Western Provinces. The content is applicable to all participants.

 

Course Description

Whether addressing performance concerns, resolving conflict, or discussing sensitive issues, the ability to navigate difficult conversations is an essential leadership and management skill. This interactive workshop provides practical tools and techniques to help participants communicate more effectively in challenging situations. Through discussion, self-assessment, and applied practice, participants will develop greater confidence in managing difficult conversations and fostering productive workplace relationships.

Leaders and managers who want to develop their ability to engage in difficult conversations to enhance their personal and career effectiveness.

Live webinars have varying levels of expected interaction, with some requiring microphone and camera capabilities to support a proper learning experience – please email pdreg@bccpa.ca if you have concerns. 

In general, we encourage participants to have their cameras turned on to enhance their virtual learning experience. This practice promotes a stronger connection with the instructor and fellow participants, and fosters improved communication and collaboration.
