Thriving in Changing Times (Live Webinar)

DELIVERY FORMAT
Online Virtual
SEMINAR TYPE
PD Seminar

Overview

We’ve all heard the phrase, “The only constant is change.” The workplace environment is evolving at an incredible pace, and learning how to adapt and stay ahead is imperative. Organizational change is often met with apprehension, and when a change initiative is announced, someone is bound to say, “Change is hard.”

While change does require effort, equating “hard” with “failure” can create a negative mindset that permeates all levels of an organization. These biases can foster resistance and a self-fulfilling prophecy of stagnation. To prevent this, it’s essential to secure buy-in and earn your employees’ commitment to the cause, ensuring your change initiatives succeed from the start.

This live virtual seminar is offered in collaboration with CPA Western Provinces. The content is applicable to all participants. BC registrants can access the course materials and virtual meeting link through CPABC's Learning Management System (LMS) as usual. Please note that this virtual seminar will be hosted by CPA Manitoba/Saskatchewan. The seminar times noted here are already adjusted to BC time. If you have questions, please contact pdreg@bccpa.ca.

Learning Objectives

  • Differentiate between change and transition, recognizing emotional responses and sources of resistance to change.
  • Cultivate emotional resilience by developing a growth mindset, managing emotions effectively, and leveraging energy with clear boundaries.
  • Apply EQ strategies and actionable plans to help teams adapt to change, fostering engagement and success in transitions

Content

Adapting to and thriving in a changing environment requires managing organizational shifts effectively, coordinating many moving parts, and supporting your team emotionally and psychologically. The good news is that change is predictable. You can anticipate how people will respond, and in this workshop, you’ll learn how to engage them positively, help them navigate transitions, and coach them toward thriving. We’ll explore the stages of successful change leadership, focusing on the emotional and psychological aspects of guiding your employees through uncertainty.
