Overview

This half day course develops basic and practical analytical thinking skills to help professionals make better decisions, solve complex problems, and communicate insights with clarity and confidence. Participants learn how to break down ambiguous situations, evaluate evidence objectively, recognize assumptions and bias, and apply structured frameworks to real-world business challenges.


This live virtual seminar is offered in collaboration with CPA Western Provinces. The content is applicable to all participants.

In this session you will: 

  • Define problems clearly and avoid “jumping to solutions”
  • Use logical frameworks to analyze issues and options
  • Distinguish facts from assumptions and opinions
  • Identify cognitive bias and flawed reasoning
  • Evaluate evidence and data more critically
  • Prepare decision strategies

Live webinars have varying levels of expected interaction, with some requiring microphone and camera capabilities to support a proper learning experience – please email pdreg@bccpa.ca if you have concerns. 

In general, we encourage participants to have their cameras turned on to enhance their virtual learning experience. This practice promotes a stronger connection with the instructor and fellow participants, and fosters improved communication and collaboration.
