Overview

This is an interactive and engaging half day workshop designed to assist participants to enhance their capacity to effectively facilitate challenging conversations that encourage interactive, open, and inclusive dialogue. 

Advisory: As this is a highly interactive workshop, participants will need to have access to audio and video capabilities (mic and camera) in order to participate in the breakout rooms and chat.

Course Description

In recent years, facilitation of meetings in general, and facilitation of difficult conversations in particular, has become a core competency for anyone who leads or participates as part of a team. In addition to valuable time saved, effective facilitation of difficult conversations shortens the path to achieving desired outcomes, leaving behind a sense of progress and belonging. Based on interactive and hands-on activities, participants will have access to proven facilitation tools and techniques that will develop their facilitation skills. This practical approach enables the transferability and application of the acquired knowledge to multiple facilitation situations and needs. 

Applicable for

Both CPAs and non CPAs would be welcome and could benefit from the course.
 

Content

  • identify the distinction between facilitation and traditional chairing of meetings and in what situations each would be most beneficial
  • explore and use core practices required to become an effective facilitator
  • engage with and apply specific facilitation tools and strategies to build and maintain consistent, visible, and transparent discussions throughout all levels of the organization

In general, we encourage participants to have their cameras turned on to enhance their virtual learning experience. This practice promotes a stronger connection with the instructor and fellow participants, and fosters improved communication and collaboration.
