Overview

Artificial intelligence is changing our world, increasing the importance of communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and other uniquely human skills. This workshop, adapted from the book Soft Skills in the Age of AI, explores six critical human skills that cannot be automated. Participants will examine how communication, storytelling, emotional intelligence, creativity, and relationship-building are critical to professional effectiveness.

Advisory: As this is a highly interactive workshop, participants will need to have access to audio and video capabilities (mic and camera) in order to participate in the breakout rooms and chat.


This live virtual seminar is offered in collaboration with CPA Western Provinces. The content is applicable to all participants. BC registrants can access the course materials and virtual meeting link through CPABC's Learning Management System (LMS) as usual. Please note that this virtual seminar will be hosted by CPA Manitoba/Saskatchewan. The seminar times noted here are already adjusted to BC time. Course Description

In a time of uncertainty about AI's role, this dynamic workshop offers a powerful message of hope. We explore the six essential soft skills that will keep you relevant and in demand. The uniquely human abilities that AI can’t replicate are the key to resilience. AI is transforming workflow and automating technical tasks, but organizations rely on professionals who can communicate clearly, build trust quickly, collaborate, and adapt to change.

Applicable for

Accounting professionals, finance professionals, managers, emerging leaders, customer-facing professionals, and individuals interested in strengthening communication and interpersonal effectiveness in modern workplaces.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants should be able to: 

  • Identify and understand the six key soft skills that are critical in the age of AI 
  • Understand human relationships in the sales process 
  • Recognize the importance of creativity and relationship-building 
  • Begin the process of change and adaptation

Improving Your Virtual Learning Experience

Live webinars have varying levels of expected interaction, with some requiring microphone and camera capabilities to support a proper learning experience – please email pdreg@bccpa.ca if you have concerns. 

In general, we encourage participants to have their cameras turned on to enhance their virtual learning experience. This practice promotes a stronger connection with the instructor and fellow participants, and fosters improved communication and collaboration.
