Overview

This interesting and revealing presentation explores and reveals four of the most common personalities that inhabit all of us including those we work with. We’ll examine their unique and defining traits, and characteristics and present practical solutions and approaches on how to better connect with the people at work, our clients, our higher ups…and even in your personal life.


This live virtual seminar is offered in collaboration with CPA Western Provinces. The content is applicable to all participants. BC registrants can access the course materials and virtual meeting link through CPABC's Learning Management System (LMS) as usual. Please note that this virtual seminar will be hosted by CPA Manitoba/Saskatchewan. The seminar times noted here are already adjusted to BC time. Course Description

We will unlock the mystery of why people are the way they are and act the way they do. More importantly, we'll provide you with the ability to adjust how you communicate so you can connect positively and productively. If you have ever wondered or been curious why people are they way they are what makes people tick, then this is the presentation for you!

Applicable for

This course would benefit the accountant that cherishes their relationships with their clients and wishes to have a deeper understanding of how their client’s personality from their initial meeting throughout the duration of the business relationship works. Ultimately this course is about making lasting and productive relationships with clients by being adaptable and intuitive to how to communicate to connect and stay connected. 

Content

  • Discover the four most common personality dynamics including typical traits and characteristics. 
  • Quickly identify the core characteristics and learn to adjust your communication style and approach. 
  • Discover what can be factors that can aggravate your clients – especially if they see the world very differently. 
  • Learn HOW to work with each personality to ensure a lasting connection right from the start.

Michael Lewis
Michael Lewis is Managing Director of Michael Lewis Training, Motivation and Development, a London, Ontario-based training, and development firm that was founded in 1994 and is very experienced and popular speaker and trainer. As of January 2026, he has spoken and/or presented workshops, seminars, webinars, and team-building sessions almost 6800 times in 429 different communities across Ontario. He has been honoured to have been of service to a wide range of clients in private, non-profit, and public sectors. Additionally, he has spoken and presented seminars and workshops on a wide variety of emerging and important topics to over the past 23 years to the accounting profession across Ontario primarily to the members of the CPA Ontario, but also to CPA Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and CPA New Brunswick. After a 42-year career in training, he retires at the end of 2026.

Live webinars have varying levels of expected interaction, with some requiring microphone and camera capabilities to support a proper learning experience – please email pdreg@bccpa.ca if you have concerns. 

In general, we encourage participants to have their cameras turned on to enhance their virtual learning experience. This practice promotes a stronger connection with the instructor and fellow participants, and fosters improved communication and collaboration.
