Overview

Today’s business environment may comprise as many as five generations. Having people who were born between the 1930’s and the 1990s work together allows for creativity and innovation, but also for conflict and misunderstanding.

This is an individual session recorded from PD Nexus: Business & Innovation Insights (December 2024). Note that the title is also included in the bundled on-demand package titled PD Nexus: Business and Innovation Insights (On-Demand - CPABC). Please ensure you do not purchase both.

Access expires 180 days from purchase date

Course Description

Today’s leaders and manager must continuously learn and understand the differences among generations. From differences in social, cultural and political preferences to the differences in values, communication, boundaries and priorities, leaders must be agile and flexible, learning to adjust their leadership style and overcome potential roadblocks to management success.

Participants will gain an appreciation for the preferences, strengths and challenges that members of each generation offer, the values that inform their views and perspective of work and the workplace, and the motivations of each generation.

Content

  • identify how generational views and context influence personal and team planning
  • explore areas of friction and agreement between generations
  • examine the impact of different management “styles”, and how it translates to cultural, generational and interpersonal effectiveness
  • apply management decision-making tools that will contribute to organizational success with a focus on generational differences
