Managing, cleaning, and consolidating data can be one of the most time-consuming aspects of working in Excel. This practical webinar introduces Power Query, a powerful tool that enables accounting and finance professionals to automate data preparation, reduce manual effort, and improve the reliability of reporting processes. Participants will learn how to efficiently import, transform, and combine data from multiple sources, helping them save time, minimize errors, and build more scalable reporting workflows.

Many organizations rely on data from multiple sources, including spreadsheets, text files, web pages, and other formats that often require significant manual processing. This course demonstrates how Power Query can simplify and automate data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and consolidation activities. Participants will learn practical techniques to create repeatable, refreshable processes that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and support more effective data analysis and reporting.

Anyone who needs to pull data into Excel, clean it up and/or consolidate it. Please note that you must have all the prerequisites listed in the Special Notes before attending the seminar.

MAC users – This course uses Power Query features which are not supported in Excel for MAC.

• import data from text and csv files
• append data from one table to another
• merge two data sets together in multiple ways
• import and combine all files in a folder
• un-pivot tables with ease
• a variety of recipes for automating data cleanup.

Live webinars have varying levels of expected interaction, with some requiring microphone and camera capabilities to support a proper learning experience – please email pdreg@bccpa.ca if you have concerns.
