Overview

Artificial intelligence is transforming finance functions, creating opportunities to automate routine work, enhance decision-making, and improve organizational performance. As AI adoption accelerates, finance leaders must rethink how they lead teams, apply professional judgment, and create value. This interactive webinar explores the leadership skills and strategic mindset needed to navigate the evolving role of finance, helping participants leverage AI effectively while strengthening the capabilities that remain uniquely human.

This live virtual seminar is offered in collaboration with CPA Western Provinces. The content is applicable to all participants.

Course Description

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in finance processes and workflows, many organizations are looking to leaders to guide adoption and translate technological potential into business value. This practical session explores how finance leaders can build confidence in AI-enabled environments, support their teams through change, and focus on the strategic, relationship-based, and judgment-driven activities that drive meaningful outcomes. Drawing on industry experience and finance leadership insights, participants will gain a practical framework for leading successfully in the AI era.

Applicable for

CFOs, Controllers, Finance Directors, and senior accounting professionals in public practice or industry who are accountable for AI adoption decisions, team capability development, or the strategic direction of their finance function. Particularly relevant for leaders who feel the pressure to "do something with AI" but want a practical, judgment-based framework rather than vendor pitches or theory.

Content

The session covers three core shifts:

  • How to identify which parts of your role AI should own — and which parts define your value
  • How to lead a finance team that is skeptical, overloaded, or afraid of being replaced
  • How to move from reporting the past to shaping the future
