Course Description
Learn about a full-service investment dealer or broker, a discount broker, a robo-advisor, a fee-only financial planner and a deposit broker. You'll also see demonstrations of actual online accounts with a discount broker, Questrade, and a robo-advisor, Wealthsimple. The course also looks at what experts say about future stock market returns and where interest rates are going to help you plan appropriately.
Delve into the issue of RRSPs vs the alternatives and look at investing in equities inside and RRSP versus a regular taxable account versus a TFSA. Explore other options including real estate, reinvesting in your own business, paying off debt, and retaining profits in a corporation for later dividend distribution.
There are six free spreadsheets in the course including the S&P TSX Total Return vs GIC Calculator to show you how well the stock market in Canada has done vs the risk free benchmark of GICs; the RRSP vs Regular vs TFSA Analyzer; the RRSP vs Pay Down Debt Calculator; the RRSP vs Retaining Profits in Corporation Calculator; the Tax Turbo-Charged RRSP Calculator; and the Money Maximizer to help you determine if you will have enough money to retire well.
