We’ll start with where debt problems come from - human nature and the previous low interest-rate environment. 

Then we’ll look at how the government and central banks control the economy through fiscal and monetary policy and we’ll take a detailed look at the latest financial statements of both Canada and the United States.

We’ll also compare Canada's financial health to other countries, and we’ll look at the effect of the unprecedented quantitative easing created by our central bank, the Bank of Canada, including a look at its latest financial statements.

And we'll also look at the financial stability and risks facing the big six Canadian chartered banks including a look at the consolidated balance sheet of all six of them.

Lastly, we'll cover everything you need to know about personal debt including how to find out and improve your credit score, pay off your debts, and whether RRSPs are a better option than paying off debt including a look at the RRSP versus pay down debt calculator spreadsheet which is included with the course.
