Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants should be able to: 

  • Describe the scope, objectives, and core requirements of CSRS 4400. 
  • Determine pre-engagement considerations, including acceptance/continuance and agreeing to the terms of the engagement. 
  • Define and perform agreed-upon procedures, including documentation, written representations, and handling findings and exceptions. 
  • Explain when and how to use a practitioner’s expert and how multi-scope engagements are managed. 
  • Prepare an AUP report that clearly communicates procedures performed and factual findings.

  • Introduction to CSRS 4400: scope, objectives, parties involved, ethical requirements, independence, and quality management. 
  • Pre-engagement requirements: professional judgment, acceptance/continuance, and agreeing on the terms (including recurring engagements). 
  • Defining and performing procedures: types of AUP, documentation, written representations, findings/exceptions, and use of a practitioner’s expert. 
  • Multi-scope considerations when combining an AUP with other engagements. 
  • Reporting: form and content of the AUP report, dating, and illustrative examples. 
  • Canadian amendments to ISRS 4400 and related resources.
