Overview

The purpose of this session to provide information on the new AML and Trust Account Oversight Programs launched in April 2025. This session will provide an overview of the new programs, what to expect during the review, and resources that will support firms in understanding their new obligations.

Note: this seminar addresses the requirements for licensed practitioners and therefore is only relevant to members in public practice.

 
This free On-Demand course is accessible only to CPABC members and candidates, and can be accessed for only up to 60 days from the registration date.

Course Description

This session will provide CPA firms and licensed practitioners with an understanding of why the AML and Trust Account Oversight programs have been put in place and an overview of the key components of these two new programs. 

The speakers will provide an overview of the questionnaires that must be completed by the firms, as well as where to find the resources to assist with completing the questionnaires.

A note about CPD AML Hours: The content of this seminar provides practical guidance for practitioners regarding their obligations under the new programs. However, it is not intended to cover AML foundational knowledge, and therefore this seminar is not eligible for AML hours.  

Applicable for

This course is designed for licensed practitioners in firms who are responsible for the firm’s AML compliance and/or practice review with CPABC.

  • the key components of the AML and Trust Account Oversight Programs 
  • how to complete the AML Questionnaire during the firm’s practice review cycle
  • how to complete the Trust Account Oversight Questionnaire, if the firm holds trust accounts
  • getting prepared for the review of these questionnaire responses with CPABC
