Approaching the later part of the year, we realize the need to move forward in ways that are safe and responsible to face the known, yet robust enough to face the unknown. Achieving this though, requires us to have an open mindset, a willingness to look at things from new perspectives.
While forging ahead towards our fall and winter program, we found it necessary to navigate through a different lens as well. Our underlying goal remains unchanged - to ensure that members receive quality professional development opportunities – though factors such as public health and safety, as well as accessibility to PD during unprecedented times, have redefined what it means to successfully achieve that goal. Here are six initiatives to take note of this fall:
Enjoy special pricing on seminars through to March 31, 2021
- To keep PD accessible during these unprecedented times, we are offering a 20% discount towards CPABC PD in-person seminars, live webinars, and selected CPABC archived on-demand products.
Live Webinars account for the majority of our program
- 90% of offerings
- Zoom will continue to be the online learning platform
- We received many positive attendee comments on their live webinar experience throughout our spring and summer program, and will continue to enhance our deliveries
In-person seminars make a limited and cautious return
- Class sizes will be limited and seating spaced out, food and beverage service will be adapted to minimize contact
- Course materials will be paperless only to reduce touch points
- CPABC staff will adhere to public health and safety requirements, and strict CPABC policies on external engagements
- All attendees will agree, and adhere, to similar guidelines - specific protocols will be made available to registrants prior to attending the seminars
PD Passport unit shifts from “days” to “credits” beginning September 1
- Passports will be valued by credits instead of days to increase their flexibility as we work with new partners to introduce an enhanced line-up of on-demand learning products
- Personal and Flexi PD Passports now offer 60 credits (instead of 6 days)
- Most seminars equal to 1 Passport Day are now valued at 10 Passport Credits
- Passport credits are indicated with each course description
The Mini PD Passport makes its debut!
- Exclusive to CPABC members, this miniature version of the Personal PD Passport provides 30 credits to the holder
- A great choice for members taking a smaller number of sessions
The PD Catalogue goes digital
- As our paperless course material initiative approaches its second anniversary, the PD Catalogue will also move to a digital medium beginning this fall
- Stay tuned for the digital version to be published in early September, but you don’t need to wait until then to browse our full inventory of seminars, products and programs on the PD website, where the latest updates and status changes can be found in real time
