For seminars held in downtown Vancouver, CPABC PD staff will be available at the registration table to assist with sign-in. Staff will usually be on hand at the registration table until half an hour after the seminar begins. If you arrive late and were not able to sign in, email us at pdreg@bccpa.ca to let us know you arrived after that time. Note that if we do not receive any notification from you, and you did not sign in, you will be marked as a no-show for the course.
While there is no official dress code at our seminars, the majority of attendees arrive in business casual attire. Please note that the temperature in meeting rooms can fluctuate throughout the day, so it is advisable to dress in layers.
Please keep in mind that some individuals are more sensitive to certain scents and the chemicals used to create those scents. We ask attendees to consider being more scent-aware before attending our seminars, and to minimize the use of fragrances as a courtesy to those who will be sharing your learning space.
Complimentary WiFi is offered at some, but not all, seminar venues. At venues where the service is not complimentary, CPABC has arranged to provide WiFi to attendees on the day of the seminar – the access login and password information will be provided on-site.
Coffee and tea service is provided at all seminars, but lunch is provided only at full-day seminars. Lunch is not provided if you attend half-day seminars, regardless if they are held back-to-back. Pastries will be provided at seminars that begin in the morning, except for free PD sessions.
We will do our best to accommodate requests for special dietary considerations for attendees who have food allergies, as well as vegetarian or vegan requests, but please note that personal preferences - such as a preference for one type of protein over another - will not be accommodated. Please inform us at the time of registration if you have any food allergies (NOT preferences). We will pass along your name and information to the catering staff at the seminar facility and you will need to identify yourself to the server at lunch time. Note that this only applies to full-day seminars where lunch is provided.
