The fee can be avoided by paying for PD seminar registrations through a Visa Debit card, a Mastercard Debit card, or by using Passport Credits for PD Passport Holders.

Payment is required at the time of registration for PD seminars. Options such as online banking, cheque, wire transfer, and EFT necessitate an invoice to be generated in advance, which is possible for charges such as member dues and licensing fees, but we are unable to process PD seminar registrations without immediate payment.

We understand that this new policy may affect you, and hope that you will be able to have a second look at the other payment options that do not incur the convenience fee. CPABC is implementing this change to help recover costs of processing fees levied by credit card companies.

Refunds will cover the transaction amount, excluding the convenience fee, unless the seminar is cancelled by CPABC. Registrants may choose to have CPABC retain the payment as a credit for future use, thereby avoiding the convenience fee on subsequent registrations.

For one-to-one transfers where no additional payment is required, no further fees will be incurred. However, if the new seminar has a higher cost and requires additional payment, using a credit card to cover the difference will incur a convenience fee on the additional amount paid.

The purchase of a PD Passport using a credit card will be subject to the fee. However, in addition to Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit cards, PD Passports can also be paid through online banking, cheque, or wire transfer. These options will not incur the fee. However, PD Passports cannot be used to register for PD seminars until the payment has been received and processed.
